You're almost there with the concept matrix. To generate new ideas, use the descriptions you have in each block to come up with ways to satisfy these conditions. So, for example, under "Engineers" and "Longer battery life", what products could they design that can't be today because of the battery life limitation? Actually come up with products and/or services. Think about when a device you had ran out of juice...
