Chicago launch

Event: Chicago Start Up Launch.

It was
a normal Wednesday, you would expect a Wednesday to be a boring day; But not here, not in Chicago. There were numerous amounts of people having fun, partying and eating. However, that’s not me, my mission today, is to go to the Start Up event, talk to as many entrepreneurs as possible and get educated. When I got in, I was not disappointed, there were 300 people dressing up and socializing. I had to admit, it was really intimidating. Especially you are wearing a name tag that said “Student”, it makes you feel inexperience. However, after struggling for few minutes, I decided to force myself into sets to talk to people who make more money than me.

There were some socializing, there were some people playing pool. However, when it comes to company presentation, it was dead silent. We listened to roughly 7 entrepreneurs talk about their recent start up. It was socializing right after the talk. None of the company really interest me; However I was even more surprised when majority of the entrepreneurs and investors did not seem interested either. The night ended well, I ended up having 7 business card and talked to roughly 20 entrepreneurs.
How did I find out about the event?
I found out about the event by looking up Eventbrite, which is a mobile program that searches nearby events for you to attend. Programs like Eventbrite and meetup provides platform for people to meet up and socialize.
Every month , there are at least 30 events where you can go to, meet people, socialize and learn about business is what Eventbrite is all about.
There were only five business people that I was interested. First was Elton Cheung, from Kellogg school of Management, who I discussed about my business plan with. Mr. Matthew from Sloggett who operates a company where they design Web base program and computer language coding. Also Dan Stoy, the founder of Nomadhub. Where they Help business professionals meet others in and out of their existing network. He gave me a lot of feedback on my entrepreneurial mindset, also hooked me up with the coming up “3 days launch” event. Lastly Mr. Chambers, mobile strategist of Lextech, who had a wonderful  conversation with me about the mobile tech industry.

What I think.
I think this event is great for people who are looking for investor’s advise, feedback and job opportunities. Networking and connection is always on the top list of successful business or entrepreneur.  What I will do next time, is to come up with bunch of questions, prior to the event and ask them like how I will do in  a normal class. Overall, it was great, I would love to meet them again.

Looking at the ceiling

I recently just switched my iPad keyboard into a dock an merge system. The reason why this system was invented because it is easier for people to type while they are walking and talking at the same time. This idea is probably generated from the common texting and walking phenomenon. However after I tried the spilt keyboard system, I realized it is not completely comfortable. It is because our eyes are not design to look at two keyboard at the same time. Therefore I had a idea that we should just spilt the keyboard into one section. While walking and typing at the same time.

Why are nobody opening a platform for trading textbooks and trading documents for school. Every year we have to pay huge amount of money for textbook and other materials. I'm sure there would be some sort of left overs and unwanted use books. But how can I get them? And how can I find them?

I've been using 3 in 1 shampoo for a long time Nd I was wondering why wouldn't they invent something that I can wash my face with. That would be 4 in 1
It would save a lot of money on my face washer and easier for consumer to use.

The touch screen technology always has been fascinating with me. But how does touch screen work? Long story should it is by using 5 different metal sheet and line it up under and under. Which creates an electric current so when you sweep your fingers around, it will send signals that will activate the electric  signal only with fingers.

Apple and Newton.

Idea. A fascinating concept, has been around human being since we throw rocks around and hunt fishes. What are ideas? how do we come up with ideas? Why do we have ideas? lets go step by step.

1. What are ideas?
Idea is just concept and thoughts in your mind. Or it can be a principle, opinion or plan. However in my definition, it is a thought, opinion or plan to do/solve something.

How do we come up with ideas.
According to creativebits.org, there are few steps toward ideas. Research, brainstorm , random association, changes of perspective.

Research can range from Google search to the underground cave in your home. Basically anywhere that can give you information.

Brainstorm- Now there are few painful/ awesome method toward this approach. There are cloudy brain storming, black and white brainstorming, extreme color brainstorming ( basically you put your ideas into pictures and stick it on a giant piece of paper), sharp pin brainstorming ( pin every idea on to a board). There are more, but I'm just too lazy to list it out.

Why do we have ideas?
According to room 207 North Hall MSV IIT, who I have no idea who they are, some ideas are form in emergency situation. For instance, if I was chase by a gigantic black bear in ( whatever state those things are in).  I didn't bring any 22 caliber with me
